Photo Editing Tips
To have the best professional looking photographs, follow these photo editing tips. If you are an amateur, you probably wished for ways to make your pictures look better. Professional looking photos are what set marketing materials or other publications apart from the rest.
The first tip to remember is not to edit your original photo. Make a copy of your photo and rename it, indicating that it is your rough draft. This way if you make a change to the photo that is irreversible or that you do not like, you still have the original.
Another tip to keep in mind is to avoid over editing your photos. If you change or enhance your photo too much, it looks staged or unnatural. It also loses many of its original details. Know when to say when during this process.
If you have a dull photo on your hands, increase the intensity of the colors to liven it up and make it more vibrant. Adjust the brightness when you have a photo that is either too bright or too dark.
The crop tool in a photo editing program is absolutely essential in getting rid of uninteresting portions of a photo. Many photos have an interesting subject on one part and a wide or boring space on another. The crop tool lets you get rid of that boring space.
Change the size of your photo to get a better resolution. The smaller a photo, the sharper it appears. To print out a photo that looks professional on any publication, make sure the resolution is at least 300 pixels per inch. Do not make the mistake of enlarging your photos as this affects the clarity and sharpness of the image.
